What is an Ausbildung?
The Ausbildung is German dual vocational training: you are an employee of a training company, paid throughout the contract, and you leave with a qualification recognised across Germany. It usually lasts two to three years depending on the trade, and requires no higher education degree — which is what makes it accessible to profiles other immigration routes exclude. The entry point remains the training contract (Ausbildungsvertrag): without it, no visa application succeeds. Recruitment decisions are made several months before the intake. A file that is ready late is not rejected — it simply arrives after those that were ready.

Do I need a high school diploma?
Not always. Some fields require it, others do not. That is exactly what the test assesses, by cross-checking your education level against your target sector.
What level of German is needed?
B1 is the threshold most training companies ask for, and B2 for care professions. Below A2, an application has very little chance of succeeding.
Am I paid during the training?
Yes. The Ausbildung is an employment contract: you receive a monthly salary throughout, which increases each year.
Is the test really free?
Yes, with no commitment. You get your score and the breakdown by criterion. Paid support only comes in if you choose to go further.
